New media art is a genre of Art and Design that includes work created with new media technologies, including digital art, computer graphics, computer animation, virtual art, internet art, interactive art, video games, computer robotics, and art as biotechnology.
then term separates itself by its resulting cultural objects and social events, which can be seen in opposition to those deriving from the old visual arts.
I find this video so inspiring and really shows how much technology has evolved
Minha Yang - Graphic Designer
Minha Yang is a new media artist and a motion graphic designer.
He was introduced to media artists through his Design Major at college. His main influences are John Maeda and Golan Levin and from then on he's been doing Media works.
One of my favorite piece of art is in the video above and the picture on the left. I love the way he has created worms that move and glow and react to the viewers actions.
Textiles - Interactive fashion Show
I think this is a really good example of New Media use in Textiles. I love the way the clothes are projected onto the models and the models are able to interact with the background.
Photography - GAME OVER project
Here is a really clever use of Photography, turning it into a motion picture.
I really love the added sound effects and it really shows the possibilities photography opens.
Fine art - Drawing using a tablet
I find it amazing how you can create a masterpiece using a Tablet.
