Photoshop Techniques

Here are some basic Photoshop techniques also known as image manipulation.

This is the original image:

The first technique is Curves

Curves allows you to adjust the brightness and contrast of an image, and gives a smoother more controlled edit rather than one that looks out of place. the best method to get the perfect image is to create a 'S' like shape.

This is what my final image looks like. Its more defined and looks a lot nicer and crisper than my original.

The second Technique i'm going to demonstrate is Hue & Saturation

Hue and saturation allows you to create black and white and sepia effect images. It allows you to change the colour balance and the intensity of the colour too.

This is my final image, its softer and has a vintage feel to it.

The next is Invert

Invert makes your image look ghostly and unusual, but you need to be careful as it only works for some images.
As you can see it has made my image look scary and haunting.

The final effect is Photo Filter

Photo Filter is a bit like a preset hue and saturation. It can change the look of the weather or the time of day.

I have used a yellow photo filter for my image, it has made my image look summery and calm.
